职责

您将承担以下部分工作:

  • 协助居民进行体位调整、转移和行走;确保安全且安全的工作环境,包括预防性感染控制措施。
  • 回应呼叫灯、内部和外部紧急情况以及设施警报。
  • 记录护理、生命体征和观察结果。
  • 协助居民进行个人衣物、物品和设备的管理;洗澡、穿衣、整理仪容、个人卫生等。
  • 在持证人员的指导下协助进行治疗和疗法;根据需要进行运动锻炼。
  • 准确获取并记录生命体征和其他居民数据;记录出入量记录。
  • 执行基本护理程序,如穿抗血栓袜、涂抹乳霜或药膏、采集样本等。

资格要求

必须具备的资格

  • 当前有效的华盛顿州护理助理认证。
  • 当前在OBRA(综合预算拨款法案)检查中处于活跃状态                                                                                                 
  • 必须熟练掌握英语,能够阅读、书写和口语交流。
  • 高中毕业或获得GED证书
  • 至少具备六个月的客户服务经验,涉及医疗环境,或六个月的直接患者护理经验

  • 必须能够抬起最多60磅重物,并能使用正确技术达到至少36英寸的高度,以补货和取用物资。员工还必须具备足够的力量推动或拉动,并在整个工作日中能够自由行走、坐立和弯腰
  • 必须持有有效的执业护士执照,并由华盛顿州卫生部提供
  • 必须保持定期且可靠的出勤记录,并愿意根据需要工作。
  • 必须在规定的时限内成功完成员工入职培训及所有其他强制性的年度、在职及其它要求的培训。
  • 必须熟悉并遵守所有DVA政策和程序以及适用的集体谈判协议。
  • 必须签署所有员工的保密声明。
  • 需要出差的职位必须持有有效的无限制驾驶执照,并在使用个人车辆执行州务时必须有保险。

Help us continue to fulfill our mission of "Serving Those Who Served" by providing essential quality of life care for our Veterans! We are now accepting applications for a On-Call Nursing Assistant Certified at the Spokane Veterans Home!

Homes 24/7 facility differential pay: Updated as of July 1, 2025: This position is eligible for "Supplement Basic Shift Premium" for 24/7 Facilities. Employees who are assigned to a facility that provides direct care to residents, patients, and/or clients and whose duties are required to be performed on location will receive an additional one dollar ($1.00) per hour of supplemental basic shift premium for each hour of basic shift premium. This shift premium does not apply to overtime hours. The supplemental basic shift premium shall expire on June 29, 2027.

*This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L. Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules.

“On-call” is defined as positions where the work is intermittent in nature, is sporadic and does not fit a particular pattern. On-Call employees are utilized to support operational staffing needs. Shifts for on-call staff are scheduled on a rotational basis. The on call expectations for this position requires that staff be available to work as needed, with a minimum availability of three shifts per week, on two different shifts.

Hybrid/Telework: This position is not eligible for hybrid telework.

In addition, we provide critical community services through a variety of programs, and at our four State Veterans Homes located in Orting, Port Orchard, Spokane, and Walla Walla. These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to honorably discharged veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star.

As a On-Call Nursing Assistant Certified, you'll assist in the delivery of nursing and nursing-related care to vulnerable Veterans in need of skilled nursing care. You'll have the ability to lend direction and a caring attitude to your patients. You will also assist and monitor assigned residents with activities of daily living based on current nursing standards of practice and with a heart for our mission.

Duties

Some of what you'll be doing includes:

  • Assist residents with positioning, transferring and ambulation; ensure a safe and secure work environment, including preventative infection control methods.
  • Respond to call lights, internal and external emergencies, and facility codes.
  • Record care, vital signs and observations.
  • Assist residents with personal clothing, belongings and equipment; bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, etc.
  • Assist with therapies and treatment under the direction of licensed personnel; motion exercises as needed.
  • Accurately obtain and record vital signs and other resident data; document intake/output records.
  • Perform basic nursing procedures such as applying anti-embolism stockings, applying creams or lotions, collecting specimens, etc.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification.
  • Current active status on OBRA (Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) check                                                                                                 
  • Must be proficient in the English language and be able to read, write and speak English.
  • High School graduation OR GED
  • At least 6 six months experience involving customer service in a health care setting or six months experience involving direct patient care

 A combination of education and experience may be considered on a year-for-year basis. Experience must be relevant to the position.
 

  • Must have the ability to perform data entry.
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Must have the ability to provide a positive living environment for residents relating to meeting psychosocial needs; follow written and verbal directions; document and report observed changes in patient condition and behavior.
  • Agency Required Competencies for all positions:
    • The ability to take action to learn and grow.
    • The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.

Preferred/Desired

  • Accurate methods and practices to assist residents with activities of daily care, personal hygiene, sanitation methods, record keeping, reporting changes, infection control procedures and residents rights.

Special requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a DSHS BCCU Background Check every two (2) years in accordance with WDVA Policy 615.000 Background Checks. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.
  • Must comply with annual Tuberculin Screening in accordance with DVA policy 670.000 Tuberculosis Testing.
  • Requires medical evaluation, fit testing, training, and use of respiratory protection as required by the Washington Industrial Safety and Act standards. Must be able to wear a respirator, medical gloves, gowns, eye protection, and other personal protection as required by a job or task.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. and be capable of reaching a minimum of 36" using proper technique to stock shelves and access supplies. Employee must also be able to push or pull with sufficient strength and walk, sit, and bend in an unrestricted manner during the entire workday.
  • Must maintain a valid practical nursing license and provide from the State of Washington Department of Health.
  • Must maintain regular and reliable attendance and be willing to work as needed.
  • Must successfully complete, within mandated timeframes, employee orientation and all other mandatory annual, in-service, and other required training.
  • Must become familiar and comply with all DVA policies and procedures and Collective Bargaining Agreements as applicable.
  • Must sign the confidentiality statement for all employees.
  • Positions requiring travel must have a valid unrestricted driver's license and must be insured if driving a privately owned vehicle on state business.
  • Candidates who are offered a job with WDVA must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa now or in the future.
