职责
您将做什么
作为地区2职业安全咨询经理,您将管理并指导国王县职业安全咨询计划的所有方面,监督三个服务地点的16名全职员工。您的工作将直接支持职业安全署(DOSH)的使命,即 保障华盛顿州的安全与工作环境。

We are seeking a Region 2 DOSH Consultation Manager to lead our DOSH Consultation team serving King County. This is more than a management position. Duties
What You’ll Do
As the Region 2 DOSH Consultation Manager, you will manage and direct all aspects of the DOSH Consultation program in King County, overseeing 16 full-time employees across three service locations. Your work will directly support DOSH’s mission to Keep Washington Safe and Working.
Lead and Manage the Region 2 Consultation Program- Plan, organize, direct, and implement delivery of DOSH Occupational Safety Consultation Services in Region 2.
- Oversee safety, industrial hygiene, and risk management staff across three King County service locations.
- Hold supervisors accountable for productivity, timeliness, and technical accuracy.
- Manage the Region 2 Business Plan and Local Emphasis Programs based on regional demographics and industry mix.
- Administer the Safety Through Achieving Recognition Together (START) cooperative program.
- Support the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and Self-Insurance Accident Prevention Program reviews.
- Oversee Right-to-Know Assessment reviews.
- Conduct strategic business planning and develop regional consultation plans to meet OSHA performance goals.
- Develop and implement Local Emphasis programs and regional marketing plans.
- Participate in and influence intra-departmental projects, initiatives, and major information technology systems.
- Participate in interagency planning to achieve coordinated service programs.
- Provide input into preparation of new legislation, WACs, fiscal notes, and bill analyses.
- Manage budget development within DOSH consultation programs and collaborate on the statewide budget process (biennial operating budget of approximately $21.4 million).
- Work collaboratively with other DOSH Regional Consultation and Compliance Managers to ensure consistent statewide services to Washington’s 200,000+ employers.
- Collaborate with legislators, employers, associations, chambers of commerce, and economic development councils.
- Represent the Department in formal and informal settings, including oral and written communications with employers, workers, attorneys, and public officials.
- Enhance labor/management relations through cooperative and collaborative activities.
- Develop and lead a cohesive team of supervisors and staff to achieve DOSH’s mission and goals.
- Support professional development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Promote a positive, diverse, and inclusive workplace culture.
- Ensure safety and health of Region 2 staff.
Qualifications
Required
One of the following:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business, Political or Social Science, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Public Safety, or a related field; OR equivalent years of work experience in mid-level management;
- AND at least three years of progressively responsible leadership experience at the supervisory or senior professional level.
Additional requirements:
- Working knowledge of the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA), WACs, DOSH Consultation, Compliance and Risk Management manuals, and Federal OSHA.
- Strong management and leadership skills, including the ability to direct staff across multiple geographically dispersed locations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret and communicate technical codes and resolve industry-specific safety and health issues.
- Knowledge of human resources management, including recruitment, performance appraisal, coaching, corrective action, and labor relations.
- Advanced knowledge of computerized data and information systems.
- Effective public speaking and written communication skills.
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license. Must have a privately owned vehicle if a state vehicle is unavailable, with liability insurance.
- Ability to travel throughout the region, including overnight stays as required.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- The ability to take action to learn and grow.
- The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business, Political or Social Science, Public Safety, or related field; or equivalent years of work experience in mid-level management.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE).
- Five or more years of progressively responsible management and leadership experience in a complex matrix program or organization with regulatory enforcement functions in occupational safety and health.
- Expert knowledge of federal and state occupational safety and health programs, policies, and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to think and plan strategically, develop performance measurement systems, and achieve measurable results.
- Demonstrated success working with recognized collective bargaining organizations.
- Ability to lead problem-solving activities to improve program performance.
- Skills to manage perceptions in a highly political environment, build partnerships, and address multiple competing priorities.

The assigned duty station for this position is Tukwila, Washington (12806 Gateway Drive S, Tukwila, WA 98168). This position can be located in any of our Region 2 office locations: Tukwila, Seattle, or Bellevue
To help you maintain a proper work-life balance, teleworking may be available as part of a flexible schedule, dependent upon business needs. This position generally requires more than 40 hours per week with days and hours varying based on workload. Weekend, night, and holiday work may be required.
