The Department of Social and Health Services Child Study & Treatment Center (CSTC) is seeking a Psychologist 4 to join our highly dedicated team. Child Study and Treatment Center is a 65-bed Joint Commission-accredited psychiatric hospital, providing inpatient care for children and adolescents from across the State of Washington. The Psychologist 4 will provide coverage overseeing milieu programming, complete psychological assessments for children and youth ages 6-18, and develop our Psychology Trainee program for practicum, pre-internship and postdoctoral fellows.
In addition to providing support for Program Directors assisting with milieu management, you will complete psychological assessments to assist with diagnostic clarification and treatment planning. This is a new role, you will need to have a diverse skill range to complete evaluations, provide treatment, and act as leader of multidisciplinary team. Finally, you will receive training in completing juvenile forensic competency evaluations to support CSTC’s forensic clinic.
As a member of the CSTC Psychology Department, you can aspire to grow in this role and leave a legacy as you develop the Psychology training program, expand assessment services and make changes to optimize the care of our patients. This position is also eligible as a 12-month In-Training opportunity allowing those with a doctorate degree, who are not yet licensed to apply. If selected as a candidate in training you will work as a Psychologist 3. You will perform duties as a child and adolescent psychologist under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, where you will gain clinical evaluation, treatment, child development, assessment, and supervisory experience. Upon successful completion of the formal training plan, the incumbent will advance from Psychologist 3 to the goal class of Psychologist 4, once licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Washington has been obtained.
Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.Some of what you will do
